Acadèmie de Ballet Classique is located at 162 NW Greenwood in Downtown Bend. Under the direction of Ms Holgers, founder, director and principal teacher, the Acadèmie offers:
1. Royal Academy of Dance ballet training at all levels, which includes Character and Free Movement, as well as all forms of professional and recreational dance training for every age group. Classes in Repertoire, Jazz Ballet, Neo-Classical Ballet, Tap, Contemporary and Modern Dance are all offered when enrollment numbers allow.
2. Physical education, primarily Pilates, as well as other physical training and rehabilitation for all age groups and individuals recovering from muscle and joint injuries, including people from the armed services and people with disabilities.
The Acadèmie de Ballet Classique associates only with qualified professional Ballet and Dance Teachers, Choreographers and Musical Accompanists. Our principle pianist, Constance Gordy, holds a masters degree in piano performance, and has played for many ballet schools and companies in Canada and the US.
The Acadèmie enters students for The Royal Academy of Dance Examinations annually, and has demonstrated an exceptional rate of success with students receiving high marks as well as a 100 percent success rate.
Additionally, some of the Acadèmie students have attended the Pre-Vocational Summer Intensive Programs in Long Beach California, The Goh Academy in Vancouver, BC, June Taylor Summer Intensive and The North Carolina School of the Arts. Other students of Ms Holgers have gone on to dance companies such as Colorado Ballet, Harlem Ballet Theater, and Oregon Ballet Theater, to name a few.
While serious in our endeavors, we are committed to the philosophy that dancing is not only a beautiful art form as well as great athletic training, but, most importantly, it is lots of fun!
