For those wanting to elevate their dance training. Academie de Ballet Classique’s elite Royal Academy of Dance’s Upper Grades and Vocational Ballet Programs will meet your expectations. These 6 levels train a minimum of 3 days per week for safe training. We encourage dancers to build proper muscle memory with the trademarked program, Progressing Ballet Technique.
The Vocational Graded Examinations in Dance Syllabus provides an in-depth study of ballet, developing students’ technique, music and performance skills and introduces pointe work for female candidates. This highly-focused and practical training prepares students for a dance, or dance-related, career. The syllabi are appropriate for students from the age of 11 years. Students wishing to study for Vocational Graded examinations should have the maturity and technical aptitude for demanding study.
Les Etoiles levels:
Grade 6, 7 and 8 Award Ages 12 and up
A sixth year study of upper intermediate ballet delves into the style of the Romantic Era of ballet. Students learn about the flowing and stylistic ballets that we are so familiar with, such as Giselle, Les Sylphide, and Ramonda. The romantic period carries so much important history and its influence on today’s dance.
The Upper Grades conclude with the Grade 8 Award with the demands of an accomplished performer. These upper levels are perfectly suited to the more mature dancer.
Vocational Intermediate Foundation Ages 11 and up
This level introduces first year pointe. We recommend attending a series of Progressing Ballet Technique classes to build the necessary muscular strength to allow for safe entry to pointe. Vocational Intermediate Ages 12 and up
As an upper level of ballet, we recommend attending a series of Progressing Ballet Technique classes to build the necessary muscular strength and correct muscle memory to allow for safe entry to the demands of this level.
A classical ballet class with a strong focus on the development of pointe work. Following a structured warm-up, this 1 hour 30 minute class includes pointe work. This is a fantastic opportunity for students at Advanced levels and above to strengthen and develop their technique in this key area of classical ballet.

Vocational Advanced Foundation Ages 13 and up
A classical ballet class for students of Advanced level working above the Vocational Intermediate level. Students are given the opportunity to use their RAD syllabus training in this challenging and focused class.
We recommend attending a series of Progressing Ballet Technique classes to build the necessary muscular strength to allow strong muscle memory for this challenging level. Assessment prior to accepting students, is mandatory to placement, or prior exam success with world recognized examining body. (eg RAD, ISTD, Cecchetti, etc)
Vocational Advanced 1 Ages 14 and up
We recommend attending a series of Progressing Ballet Technique classes to build the necessary muscular strength to allow for safe entry to pointe. Assessment prior to accepting students, is highly recommended.
As a classical ballet class for students of Advanced level, students work above the Vocational Intermediate level. Students are given the opportunity to use their RAD syllabus training in this challenging and focused class.
Vocational Advanced 2 Ages 14 and up
Progressively challenging class content to challenge and energize dancers wanting to further their training or to finish their RAD training.
A classical ballet class for students of upper Advanced level working above the Vocational Advanced level 1. Students are given the opportunity to use their RAD syllabus training in this challenging and focused class, and for those wishing to expand their dance resume.
