for successful progression to Grade 5 in Dance:
To be able to demonstrate appropriate technique through the performance of movement sequences of the classwork and be able to show awareness of musicality throughout. Dances include a classical ballet, neo-classical and a character dance showing awareness of performance skills at this specific level.
This intermediate level ballet class follows the safe teaching practices of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). By following those guidelines, students develop as solid dancers, confirmed with their RAD assessments held each Spring. The Fundamental class focuses on technique while the other classes focus on the choreography necessary for a successful assessment session. Students are rewarded with an accurate and unbiased review of their progress each spring via our formal RAD exam sessions.
Tuition includes Exam to be taken in the Spring,and Character items rental for the year. Extras are divided up into 10 equal payments. If a dancer drops the class mid-year; they will be charged for the balance owed on props. Late joiners may have a “catch up fee” to cover Exam fees, props, Character rental, & prop items.
We encourage our students to engage in multiple dance styles, such as lyrical, contemporary, fitness classes and tap to become a well rounded dancer. Contact the studio for other class options.
Ballet begins with a code of conduct and appearance honed over many centuries. We subscribe to always looking and doing our best. “To be a dancer, one must look like a dancer.”
Grade 4 dancers must come properly attired and hair beautifully secured in a classical bun.
We have everything they will need. Your registration includes all that’s needed to twirl into the stars.
